Over a century ago, Kokichi Mikimoto succeeded in creating the world's first cultured pearl. His quest for perfection and his love for these pure, lustrous gems of the sea were the guiding forces that built the house of Mikimoto.

This collection is a modern take on the ancient belief that the world is composed of the four elements of nature. Different shapes and gems have been chosen: circle for Water, triangle for Fire, square for Earth, with the shapes of pearls and the glitter of diamonds for Air. This modern collection breathes new life into pearl jewellery similar to works of contemporary art. These earrings feature 8mm Akoya cultured pearls with 0.62ct diamonds set in 18K white gold.
